The ideal of feminine beauty underwent a change during the Renaissance. The Medieval ideal was diaphanous grace. But, later, Latin curves became more solid, or you could say tangible. Also, undergarments became more visible.
Following the example of Catherine of Medici, young girls and women of distinction began revealing their underclothes. The painters Titian, Giorgione, and Tintorello excelled in capturing feminine charm in all its subtlety and brilliance.
